The second day of E3 was packed with even more game news and trailers than the first. I’ve attempted to cram everything into this post. Not sure if I succeeded, but there’s definitely lots of tasty tidbits and game footage for you to check out. You can find it all after the briz-eak.
The NEWS
There were a lot of updates to stories that leaked during the first day @ E3, so I attempt to cover some of that here. You’ll also find some nice new announcements though.
- Apparently the new Metal Gear Solid: Rising title is no longer a 360 exclusive. The game is expected to come out on both PC and the PS3 as well [Source].
- A new Zelda title is set for release on the Wii sometime in 2010 [Source].
- A new Castlevania Title has been announced for the PC and the PS3 [Source].
- The PS3 is getting a new Motion Controller. I’m not really a fan of motion-controller tech, but this looks pretty legit. If you want to see the new technology in action , peep this VIDEO.
- Apparently the new Mario title coming out on the Wii will accommodate (up to) 4-person competative or cooperative multiplayer [Source]. Pretty neat!
- Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker announced as an exclusive-PSP title due out in 2010 [Source].
- Kratos from the God of War series will be one of the playable characters in the new Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny game [Source].
TRAILERS
Again, we’re stuck with a lot of eye candy this time ’round. Most of these trailers are cinematic, but I’ve tried to provide links to game footage where possible. Its nice to see what we can actually expect from a game. Am I right?
Modern Warfare 2
Now this looks absolutely beautiful. The models, the environments, the action – All gold. Plus Mctavish is back. Woot. Sorry the audio is a bit wonky, its an auditorium recording. Enjoy!
Metroid: Other M
Samus returns for a new Metroid game. Enjoy some cinematics and game play in this trailer.
Star Wars: Old Republic
This may be my favourite trailer from day 2. It’s absolutely brilliant…and I dont even particularly like Star Wars games (although I Love the movies). I highly recomend checking out this cinematic gem!
Dragon Age: Origins
Now this title came out of the blue for me. I honestly hadn’t heard anything about it, but after seeing the trailer, I had to investigate. Dragon Age is a new fantasy RPG set in its own fantasy universe. Its due out later this year and I’ll definitely be checking it out. If you want to see some game play footage, take a look HERE, otherwise just enjoy the cinematic trailer below.
SCREEN SHOTS
God of War III
This is definitely the console game I am looking forward to the most. I am a huge fan of the GoW series, and its third installment is definitely shaping up to be its best. I cant wait to see how sexy it will look on the PS3. Too bad we have to wait until March 2010 [Source].
Mass Effect 2
The second title from the Mass Effect trilogy is due out on PC and the 360 in 2010 [Source].
DC Universe Online
These screens look like they came almost directly from City of Heroes. Perhaps this is because DCO is being produced by the same studio as CoH (at least last time I checked). Anyways, CoH was a great game. If they can add an economy and a little more end-game content, DCO will probably end up being a great game. Although I still think MMORPGs belong on the PC.
Well that’s it for this mega-post. Lots of great news. Be sure to stay tuned for more!
What did you like about Day 2 @ E3?

[...] ALL of the E3 news again and figured I would post anything I failed to mention in my Day 1 and Day 2 entries. There was plenty to read, and lots to write about. But I firmly believe that a picture is [...]
Man, that new Star Wars trailer looks amazing. No Star Wars game in the last 5 years has challenged either Knights of the Old Republic or Rogue Squadron in my books.
Force Unleashed was a serious letdown, so hopefully the franchise will come back strong with Old Republic. But that teaser was definately one of the best cinematic trailers I have ever seen. If Bioware puts the same effort into gameplay, this game could be dynamite!
